CHeKT Bridge Integration

The CHeKT Bridge alarm device uses ONVIF Profile-S protocols, RTSP, or HTTP streams to communicate with IP Cameras.

This can be used to alert monitoring center operators of system alerts to show operators what caused the alarm to occur through video or snapshots, where the alarm occurred, and other details pertaining to the event.

Limitations Of DW VMAX IP Plus Connections

  • DW-VP16xT16P supports a maximum of up to 16 remote connections with the system, including through RTSP streams
  • When connecting all 16 channels through RTSP, you will not be able to access the NVR’s video feeds through the use of the system’s Web Viewer program, C3 CMS, or mobile applications as the system’s connection limit will be in excess by doing so
  • When making 16 channel connections, using full recording performance (80 Mbps), the CPU usage exceeds 90%

Note:  It may be recommended to reduce the recording performance of the system by at least half (≤40 Mbps) to drop the CPU use to 50% (approx.).  

This does not resolve the limited number of maximum connections (16-channels) with the VMAX IP Plus.

Recommended Solution

  • Connect all cameras, the VMAX IP Plus, and the CHeKT Bridge through the same network
  • Connect to the VMAX IP Plus through the WAN (not through the internal PoE), while connecting the IP cameras to the CHeKT Bridge or CHeKT software directly.

VMAX IP Plus RTSP URL Structure

Main Stream: rtsp://<NVR ipaddress>:<rtsp port>/main/ch<channel from NVR>

Sub-Stream: rtsp://<NVR ipaddress>:<rtsp port>/sub/ch<channel from NVR>

Note:  Default RTSP Port for VMAX IP Plus is Port 554.
