Mobile Notifications
The VMAX® A1 Plus™ Series recording unit uses the Mobile Notify feature to send push notifications from the unit to mobile devices. This feature may be used to update users with mobile notifications of specified event triggers that are detected through the recording System.
Examples of notification events include:
- Sensor Activation
- Video Loss
- Motion Alarm
- S.M.A.R.T.
**NOTE: This setup can only be performed at the VMAX A1 Plus itself. The connection of a display monitor and mouse will be required to utilize the user interface of the DVR.

Setting Up Mobile Notifications
To proceed with setting up the Mobile Notify feature of the VMAX A1 Plus Series, the network setup for the DVR must be completed. If you have not yet set up network settings for the DVR, please read Network Setup For The VMAX A1 Plus (5 MP) before proceeding.
- If you have yet to do so, please download and install the VMAX Plus (available for iOS & Android) mobile application from your mobile device’s application store.
- Launch the VMAX Plus mobile application, select your site, and establish a Live connection to the DVR.
If you have not yet set up a mobile connection to the DVR, please read VMAX Plus App Setup (VMAX A1 Plus).
- After connecting with the DVR, locate the Push Notification or Push Set toggle below the viewing channels.
These settings vary depending on if you are using an Android device or an iOS device to connect with the VMAX A1 Plus.

- Toggle ON this Push Notification or Push Set setting. The slider will highlight in orange to indicate that the setting is enabled.
- Enable the Use Push or Use Push Check box. The checkbox will display an orange check mark to indicate that the setting is enabled.
- Press the Set button to continue.
- Next, go directly to the VMAX A1 Plus recording unit.
If you have not already done so, please connect a display monitor and USB mouse to the DVR.
- Log in to the unit as an Administrator.
Once logged in, right-click with the mouse and navigate to Menu > Network > Mobile Notify.
This menu will display the IP address of the VMAX A1 Plus and the unique Device IDs of connected mobile devices that have enabled the Push Notification settings within the VMAX Plus mobile application.
- Select the device(s) that you are setting up and specify the Event(s) that the user will be notified for.
- Click Save to apply the settings.
**NOTE: Additional Device, Event, or Record set up may be required, depending on the events that you select. Please consult the User Manual for additional recording setup instructions.
