Mobile Notifications

The VMAX IP Plus Series recording units support Mobile Notify.  This feature may be used to update users with mobile notifications of specified event triggers that occur through the recording System.

Examples of events include:

  • Sensor activation
  • Video Loss
  • Meta Data
  • Motion Alarm
  • S.M.A.R.T.

Note:  To utilize this feature, the use of the VMAX Plus (iOS & Android) mobile application is required.

Note:  This setup can only be performed at the VMAX IP Plus itself.  The connection of a display monitor and mouse will be required to utilize the user interface of the NVR.

Setting Up Mobile Notifications

To proceed with setting up the Mobile Notify feature of the VMAX IP Plus Series, the network setup for the NVR must be completed.  If you have not yet set up network settings for the NVR, please read Network Setup For The VMAX IP Plus before proceeding.

  1. If you have yet to do so, please download and install the VMAX Plus (available for iOS & Android) mobile application from your mobile device’s application store.

  1. Launch the VMAX Plus mobile application, select your site, and establish a Live connection to the NVR.

If you have not yet set up a mobile connection to the NVR, please read VMAX Plus App Setup (VMAX IP Plus).

  1. After connecting with the NVR, locate the Push Notification or Push Set toggle below the viewing channels.

These settings vary depending on if you are using an Android device or an iOS device to connect with the VMAX IP Plus.

    • Toggle ON this Push Notification or Push Set setting.  The slider will highlight in orange to indicate that the setting is enabled.
    • Enable the Use Push or Use Push Check box.  The checkbox will display an orange check mark to indicate that the setting is enabled.
    • Press the Set button to continue.

  1. Go directly to the VMAX IP Plus recording unit.

If you have not already done so, please connect a display monitor and USB mouse to the NVR.

  1. Right-click with the mouse and navigate Menu > Network > Mobile Notify.

This menu will display the IP address and a unique Device ID of connected mobile devices that have enabled the Push Notification settings within the VMAX Plus mobile application.

  • Select the device(s) that you are setting up and specify the Event(s) that the user will be notified for.
  • Click Save to apply the settings.

Note:  Additional Device, Event, or Record set up may be required, depending on the events that you select.  Please consult the User Manual for additional recording setup instructions.
