Video Card Drivers

The DW Spectrum® IPVMS desktop client utilizes the GPU/video card of your computer to scale and display camera streams within the interface.  In the event that DW Spectrum® IPVMS is unable to detect a video card or if the video card driver is outdated, the DW Spectrum® client will notify you once opened.

This article will outline how to check your video card and update the video card driver.

Supported/Affected Devices:

  • DW Blackjack Series (Windows)

Checking Drivers

If your DW Spectrum® IPVMS client has indicated that there is an issue with the video drivers:

  1. Open the Windows Start menu and search for Computer Management.

Open the Computer Management application.

  1. Under System Tools, select Device Manager.

Next, double-click on Display Adapters.

Right-click on your video card or display adapter and select Properties.

  1. Select the Driver tab.

The current Driver Version and release date will display.

Click the Update Driver button to prompt your computer’s operating system to check for available driver updates from the GPU manufacturer.

Note:  Using the Update Driver option may not always yield the desired results.  A more effective method for updating the drivers is to check with the video card manufacturer for available updates.
