Changing the DW Cloud Owner of an Existing DW Spectrum Server

DW Cloud Owner Account

The DW Cloud service is a convenient way for administrators and general users alike to connect with their DW Spectrum Server remotely and securely. The DW Cloud account that belongs to the local Owner user must register their DW Cloud account on the Server before they may begin to invite additional Cloud Users.

However, if the account assigned as the DW Cloud Owner changes or must update their email address, the Cloud User account that is set for the Owner can be changed within the DW Cloud Web Portal. Transferring the Owner account to another registered DW Cloud user can also be performed without the need to invite all DW Cloud users again afterward.

This article will outline how to change the DW Cloud Owner account on a DW Spectrum Server using the DW Cloud Web Portal.

 

**NOTE:  Be sure to add the replacement DW Cloud account to the Server before beginning this process. The DW Cloud account that will replace the current DW Cloud Owner must be registered to the DW Spectrum Server to be invited to become the new Owner user.

 

Changing the Server’s DW Cloud Owner

To change the DW Cloud account that is registered for the local Owner user:

  1. Open a web browser and connect with the DW Cloud Web Portal. You can connect using the URL:

  1. Log in to the Owner user’s DW Cloud account.

Select the DW Spectrum System that you are changing Owner for and select the Settings tab.

 

  1. In the Settings menu, click on the “change” hyperlink that appears beside the Owner.

 

  1. The Transfer Owner pop-up will display.

Enter the email of the new Owner then click “Next”.

A warning pop-up will display. Click the Transfer button to confirm. Once the ownership transfer is complete, the old Owner will be removed from the system.

 

  1. The invited DW Cloud user must then log in to their own DW Cloud account (https://dwspectrum.digital-watchdog.com/) to accept the transfer of ownership.

The changes will take effect immediately upon acceptance.
