DW Spectrum allows users to monitor and manage connected cameras and devices. However, to record and archive camera video, DW Spectrum requires the use of recording licenses.
To purchase licenses, please consult with your Digital Watchdog Sales Representative.
To activate a license, please read Activating Licenses.
Professional Licenses – Enables recording of captured video. This license does not expire. One license is used per camera channel*. (*Note: Some cameras use multiple streams that are detected as separate cameras i.e. some panoramic camera models)
Note: Bulk licenses (4-pack, 10-pack, 20-pack, etc.) cannot be separated into individual licenses. However, bulk licenses can be shared between among Servers in a merged System.
For example, a 4-pack license cannot be split up to provide one license to four individual servers. Yet a 4-pack can be shared between the four servers if they are merged together as a single System.
Encoder Licenses - Enables recording of captured video from an analog encoder. This license does not expire.
Video Wall Licenses – Enables two remote monitors to be controlled. Once license for every two monitors. Use multiple licenses to create a large video wall. This can be activated on any server. This license never expires.
Embedded Recorder License (Analog DVR license) – Enables search, playback, and backup from DW® DVR recorders. This can be activated on any server. This license never expires.
IP I/O Module License – Enables control and recording of a single I/O module. One license channel per one I/O module. This can be activated on any server. This license never expires.
Trial License – This license can be used to demonstrate and test all Spectrum features. This license will typically expire 30-60 days after activation, depending on the license. New Spectrum servers can activate 4 trial licenses for free by selecting “activate trial license” under the licensing tab of Spectrum.
