FQDN or Whitelist For DW Spectrum Cloud Access

FQDN or Whitelist For DW Spectrum Cloud Access

Affected Roles:  Administrators

Related Digital Watchdog VMS Apps:  DW Spectrum

Complexity:  High

Last Edit:  April 13, 2020

Internet-connected VMS will generate internet traffic if the System has Internet access.  DW Cloud is part of a P2P (Peer-to-Peer) network that allows users to easily connect with their Systems.  Presence of a firewall or SonicWall will interfere with P2P communication, unless it is properly configured.

When configuring your Firewall, FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) format should be used in order to white list specific services, as some of the endpoints do not resolve to static IP addresses.

In order to allow a DW Cloud connection or a client interaction with our Cloud and VMS services, your routing or internet security software may require the configuration of a specified address list.
