-----------------------------------

System Log Files

By default, the DW Spectrum System will maintain up to 26 System log files, each up to a maximum size of 10 MB per file (log_file.log to log_file025.log). Only records that are located within the log_file.log file will display in the log section of the DW Spectrum web interface.

Log File Location

By default, DW Spectrum log files are located in the following file directories:

  • Windows OS
C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\DW Spectrum\DW Spectrum Media Server\log\
  • Linux OS
/opt/dwspectrum/mediaserver/var/logs

Audit Trail, Bookmarks, and Event Log

These logs are located in the mserver.sqlite file and are limited to the following retention periods:

  • Audit Trail – 183 days
  • Event Log – 30 days or up to 100,000 events
  • Bookmarks Bookmarks follow and rely upon the availability of archived footage. So for example, if there are 30 days of archived video footage stored with Bookmarks, you would have 30 days of Bookmarks

**NOTE:  These limitations have the option of being adjusted in the Server config options in the server’s web client. Please be aware that making major changes to the retention periods of these databases will affect the integrity of the pre-existing data.
