There may be circumstances when you are unable to use the desktop client to view footage using the DW Spectrum desktop client. If necessary, there is an alternate method to connect with a system through a proxy cloud connection using a web browser.
This article will outline how to connect with a system and where to find the system’s DW Cloud ID through the DW Spectrum Web Portal.
**NOTE: The Server must be connected to DW Cloud to use this method. To learn how to assign your Server to your DW Cloud Account, please read DW Cloud Setup.
The Cloud System ID is a unique identifier (alphanumeric) that is generated for a System at the time that it is initially connected to DW Cloud. It is used for identifying resources and follows a standard format described in RFC 4122.
To locate the Cloud System ID:
[optional] Enable the “Remember me” setting to have the browser retain the login information whenever it reconnects with the web portal.
Click on the System tile that you want to obtain the Cloud System ID from.
**NOTE: Do not click on the “Open in DW Spectrum” button. This will prompt the DW Spectrum Client to launch on the computer instead of using the web portal.
