The DW Spot™ Monitoring Module (HDSpotMod) allows users to monitor live video streams of network connected devices such as IP cameras or video recording units. When used with an analog video recorder, the HDSpotMod will typically require the use of an RTSP stream URL to display video. However, the VMAX® A1 Plus recording unit can be easily added to an HDSpotMod through its user interface instead.
This article will outline how to add a VMAX® A1 Plus to a DW Spot™ Monitoring Module (HDSpotMod) for regular camera viewing.
Note: To connect the DVR and HDSpotMod together, both devices should be connected to the same network.
Connecting the VMAX® A1 Plus to an HDSpotMod can be easily performed directly at the module itself. Make sure that you have a USB mouse and a display monitor (VGA or HD Display) connected to the DW Spot™ Monitoring Module before starting.
To add a VMAX® A1 Plus to an HDSpotMod:
The Setup Menu will display. Click on Record and select Registration.
The HDSpotMod will automatically scan the network for supported recording units. Once the VMAX A1 Plus is detected, the DVR will display in the search results.
Select the VMAX A1 from the search results. If the HDSpotMod displays a login verification enter the login to the VMAX® A1 Plus recording unit.
Next, use the Channel dropdown to designate a channel of the HDSpotMod, then select a camera of the VMAX® A1 Plus.
Click the Apply button to add the camera to the HDSpotMod.
Repeat this step for each camera of the VMAX® A1 Plus that you want to add to the HDSpotMod.
Note: If you select multiple cameras of the VMAX® A1 Plus simultaneously before clicking the Apply button, the HDSpotMod will add the selected cameras to its remaining available display channels.
