In the event of System errors, software corruption, or display issues, recovery firmware can be applied as a final troubleshooting step. By running the recovery program, the ENHD16 Compressor™ will be defaulted and reverted to an older version of its firmware, resolving most operational issues. Once the recovery is complete, the system can be upgraded back to the latest release.
This firmware recovery guide is intended for users who encounter system startup failure or experiencing symptoms of file system corruption.
**NOTE: It is recommended to avoid the use of Kingston and San Disk brand USB sticks, as the ENHD16 Compressor may experience an issue while allocating the firmware files from the USB.
Use the following link to download the recovery firmware files for your ENHD16 Compressor. There will be a Download button in the DropBox webpage.
Click Here to download the recovery files from DropBox to your computer.
To perform a firmware recovery, please follow these steps:
Make sure that the files are not zipped in a compressed folder.
Once the folder is copied to the USB stick, you may eject the USB from the computer.
**NOTE: Do not change the folder name. Make sure that the folder is named diag3531A.
The ENHD16 Compressor will automatically begin running the recovery program from the USB stick. Only a single-channel view will display onscreen.
This recovery process will take approximately 1~3 minutes to complete. As there is no progress bar, listen for the audible *beep* sound-queue that will indicate that the recovery process has completed.
Following running the firmware recovery, the system will be using an outdated firmware version.
Follow the instructions below to update the ENHD16 Compressor to the latest firmware build:
Enter the model number of the ENHD16 Compressor (located on the sticker, physically on top of the unit).
Or click here: DW-ENHD16 Product Page
Click the Download button to download the firmware update.
Feel free to clear the USB stick that was used for the firmware recovery. Make sure that there are no other files on the USB other than the new firmware update.
**NOTE: Make sure that the firmware file is not in a folder.
If you have not already done so, make sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with administrator privileges.
Select Setup.
Set the Device to USB, then click the Refresh button.
Once the new firmware file is detected, click the Start button.
You may remove the USB stick after the unit is done rebooting.
