By default, DW Spectrum will reserve free space within each local disk and attached NAS drive to store video recordings of the Server’s connected cameras.
However, to ensure that camera video can be archived at any given time, DW Spectrum will overwrite the oldest footage in the archive with new data when the Free Space of the disk drops below the assigned Reserved Space setting.
This article will outline how to adjust the Reserved Space setting for a DW Spectrum Server, using a web browser.
Note: Reserved Space is set no greater than 10% of a drive’s total size.
Some users might want to reasonably change the size of reserved space because of some user's requirements and need to keep larger space for longer retention days. In DW Spectrum, this can be configured via the following steps:
URL Structure: http://<server_ip_address >:<port>/static/index.html#/advanced
Ex: http://192.168.1.190:7001/static/index.html#/advanced
Note: Default port value is 7001
Note: The greater that the Reserved Space setting is set to, the more Free Space can be used before the archive begins to overwrite.
